Bream is a certified personal trainer (since 1988)
through American College of Sports Medicine-ACSM
and American Council on Exercise-ACE, and is also
a certified Yoga and Pilates Instructor. Sue’s
training style is “functional” training
that emphasizes core strength and stability. We
all need our bodies to function optimally, whether
it is simply to assist in activities of daily
living or to perform at specific sports or recreational
activities.
All of the training programs that Sue develops
for clients involve training the core, which is
essentially the foundation for all of our body’s
movement. This is done through the use of the
fitness ball, the client’s own body weight,
free weights, medicine balls, exercise bands and
tubing, and various balance tools. Sue specializes
in older adult, injury prevention, fitness, pre-and
post-natal exercise, nutritional guidance, sports
specific fitness (i.e. runners, cyclists, skaters,
swimmers) and general fitness.
Her belief is that fitness is a way of life and
a choice that we make, not something that we have
to do. As a mother of two boys, she understands
how busy parents can be and likes helping people
figure out how to incorporate exercise into their
lifestyle. She believes firmly that fitness should
be fun for all ages.
Sue is also a competitive inline speed skater
and instructor.
Available
mornings/afternoons and Saturday. Limited

I
have
been very overweight and out of shape for most
of my adult life. I finally decided that I
wasn’t going to enter my ‘40’s thinking
the same thing as when I entered my
‘30’s—that I really wished I was in better
shape. So at almost 39, I got up the nerve to
look into getting a personal trainer. I
found Sue Bream at Outrageously Fit, and
it is the best thing I have ever done for
myself. I was completely self-conscious
and nervous before I went to my first
appointment, but Sue was so cool and non-judgy
that I very soon felt at ease. I have
discovered that I actually LIKE to work out, and
I have never felt better. I am shocked to
find that there might be an athlete lurking
inside me! If you are at all thinking
about getting in shape and working with a
trainer, totally do it. If it is that first
appointment or phone call that is stopping you,
don’t let it. I wish I had called
earlier, but I am glad I finally did. Sue is
really creative and
working out with her is fun.
If
you want to talk to someone who NEVER thought
they would be working out regularly, or if you
are terrified, like I was, of starting, ask Sue
for my email address!

I
have taken Sue's early morning fitness class for
years. The class has from 4-6 members. Over the
years we have become quite bonded. I this is partially
due to Sue's relaxed style. The atmosphere is
friendly and supportive. Sue is very aware of
each student's abilities and individual needs.
She knows just when to add a challenge or when
to suggest we make a modification to avoid injury.
This class works for me because I know that someone
cares if I come or not. I am not just a name on
the roster. |
